About:
The Separation Theory
The Separation Theory is the idea that our lives as parents only provide guidance for our children, not personal real world learning. Our children deserve the opportunity to experience and learn from their own lives without our constant interference. We can support this independence by modeling confidence, consistency, and responsibility in our own lives and encouraging those qualities in our children.
When respect isn’t present in our relationships with our children, even a few simple changes in how we communicate and respond can make a meaningful difference.
